Dr. Guthrie is a renowned expert in Hyperbaric Medicine, having served as Director of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at a number of institutions including Nassau County Medical Center and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Guthrie most recently served as Principal Investigator for the Defense Center of Excellence for Traumatic Brain Injury. He has acted as a consultant to a number of prestigious institutions including the New York Health Department, Visiting Nurse Service of New York and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. As a visiting plastic surgeon, he practiced in Peru, Brazil and Honduras. Dr. Guthrie received his medical degree and his Ph.D in Physiology from the University of Wisconsin where he also completed his residencies in General Surgery and in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Professional Organizations: Member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.

Special Areas of Interest: Dr. Guthrie has published dozens of papers in the field of wound care and plastic and reconstructive surgery.
