Douglas D. Sankar, M.D. is Board Certified in Neurology with added qualifications in Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr Sankar is a Fellow of the American Board of Elecrodiagnostic Medicine. He was educated at Boston University School of Medicine through the accelerated program, and completed residency and fellowship at New York University. Dr. Sankar joins the practice after running the Clinical Neurophysiology services at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center for ten years. He also served as the Associate Chief of Neurology. Dr. Sankar is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at New York Medical College. He is the director of the Stroke Center at the Hudson Valley Hospital. His areas of clinical interest include Epilepsy, Headaches, Vertigo and Back Pain as well as Clinical Neurophysiology (diseases of the peripheral nerves and muscles).
A National lecturer on Migraine Headaches, Dr. Sankar has conducted numerous lectures to primary care physicians on this topic. He also has special interest in Epilepsy and In Neuromuscular Disease.
Shaik Ubaid, M.D.

Dr. Ubaid is a comprehensive neurologist with fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology. He did his residency training in neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
After completing his fellowship at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, he stayed on as assistant professor of neurology and neuroscience at Cornell He was the first director of Intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring at the New York Presbyterian Hospital of Cornell in New York City where he helped start the deep brain stimulation program for movement disorders. He was a member of the team that performed pioneering work in gene therapy research for Parkinsons Disease.
Dr. Ubaid provides comprehensive neurological care that includes conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, dementia, epilepsy, headache, Parkinson's disease, sleep disorders, neck and back pain, neuropathy and other diseases of brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. His hobbies include traveling, social work and public speaking.
Research:
Co-investigator in the FDA approved study of gene therapy for Parkinson’s disease. These were the first such cases in the world.

Francis Foster Award for "Best Scientific Presentation" at the 1999 Wisconsin Neurological Society Meeting.
Amit Khaneja, M.D.
Dr. Khaneja is Board Certified in Neurology and board eligible in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy. He completed residency in Neurology at Albert Einstein's Beth Israel Medical Center Neurology residency program and fellowship at NYU Medical Center in Clinical Neurophysiology/ Epilepsy with special emphasis on medical and surgical treatment of intractable epilepsy and other seizure disorders. He has extensive experience in Video EEG monitoring and managing Epilepsy in a critical care setting. In addition to General Neurology, his training includes Clinical Neurophysiology, as well as using EMG as a diagnostic tool.
Dr. Khaneja enjoys providing care for patients with headache, stroke, and patients with nerve and muscle disorders. Dr. Khaneja believes in providing comprehensive care for patients with neurological disorders including but not limited to holistic, medicinal, and surgical and Botox treatments.
Dr. Khaneja has a beautiful seven year old daughter that is trilingual, she reads and writes fluently in English and Hebrew and speaks fluent Russian. Dr. Khaneja also has a special interest and love for Opera. In 2003 Dr. Khaneja debued at Carnegie Hall in a program of songs and arias. He appeared widely in New York, in operas and oratorios, having sung with Dicapo opera among others in roles such as Tamino (Die Zauberfloete), Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore), Alfredo (La Traviata), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor), to name a few. Dr. Khaneja’s Lyric tenor has been lent to numerous performances of Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte) and Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) with New York Opera Productions, Amato Opera, NYC. He has also appeared with various ensembles in the Tristate area such as New York Cantata Singers-NYC, BC Chorale, BC orchestra, First Presbyterian Chorale NJ, Douglaston Singers NY and Good Shepherd Choir, in important oratorio works such as Alexander's feast(Handel), Messiah (Handel), Weihnacht's oratorium (Bach), and countless Bach cantatas for the Tenor voice.
